NYC BigApps 2017

We are delighted to announce the Finalists for this year’s NYC BigApps competition! Since the launch of the competition in January 2017, over 500 people have participated in exploring how data and technology can improve the quality of life for New York City youth, seniors, and immigrants across three challenge categories: Transportation, Knowledge, and Community Resiliency.

After four months and seven design-thinking and ideation workshops at Civic Hall, hundreds of participants formed teams, met with mentors, interviewed end-users, and prototyped solutions. By the close of the competition on April 30th, we received 150 eligible submissions. From there, held two rounds of judging and are thrilled to announce the NYC BigApps 2017 Finalists!

All finalists will showcase their solutions at our culminating event on May 23rd when the winners will be selected and announced. Join us for the Finalist Expo and Awards Ceremony!
